Weeks 9-10

I will have to say week 9 has been the hardest because I have been so hungry!!! I have never really experience hunger pains until week 9 and boy to they hurt! I feel like I cannot get full and am constantly eating! I am glad to report it only lasted for a week and week 10 has been much better…just really tired…maybe from all that eating the week before. This has all been so exciting and so much fun and I am looking forward to what’s next for week 11!

Needles!

I have always been scared of needles and always will be scared of needles. So when I told my Doctor this he said well you better get use to them since your pregnant now. Ughh…I will have to say I have gotten a lot better since I have had to give blood four times now in the last four months! Although the first Nurse who took my blood was not very friendly. I tried to tell her I was scared of needles and all she could say was I need your insurance card. Really? So I gave her the benefit of doubt and said it again and still no response. So at this point I am starting to really freak out. Finally she is done putting all my information into their system and is now preparing for the big stick. I tell her for the last time that I am really, really scared and she finally responds with a “well you better not look then!” Ok really can you show any kind of sympathy! It didn’t take very long and wasn’t as bad as I had always imagined but I was so glad to be out of there. Only about a dozen more times of this and maybe I will be cured of my fear.

Telling our Families!

Telling our Family

This has been one of the most exciting times so far during our pregnancy… We decided to tell my parents on a Tuesday night around 8pm when I was only 4 weeks along. We called them and told them we were stopping by…which looking back does seem kind of out of the ordinary to stop by so late on a work night but we just had to tell somebody!! My Dad kept asking us what are yall doing out right now and every time he asked me that I just acted like I didn’t hear him (I think he asked a total of 3 times that night). I was so nervous that finally I bumped Jeffrey on his knee and he got the hint to say it! I think he asked them well what do yall want to be called “Grammie, Grandma, MaMa” because she’s pregnant! The next day my Mom was telling me that after we hung up the phone with them telling them we were coming over Dad said to her I wonder if they are coming over to tell us they are Pregnant! Wow, too bad he can’t guess this weekend’s lottery numbers!
We waited a little bit longer to tell Jeffrey’s parents (at 9 weeks) because we found out the whole family; all of his sisters and their husbands were going to be in town for a dinner Saturday night so we thought that would be the perfect time! It felt so good to be able to tell more people this wonderful secret we have been keeping! They were also surprised and excited for us as well!
We always wanted to do something really creative when we decided to tell our families but by the time it came we just couldn’t wait!!

First comes Puppy, then comes Baby

Now we don't have any kids yet so we could be really off but right now who ever said that getting a puppy is the best way to prepare for having kids could not have been more right!! We have had our "puppy" for two years now! He is a male German Shepherd and has brought so much joy and laughter to our life’s. It is so hard to believe that our little son is already two!! He has prepared and taught us so much like, don't let the alarm clock go off for more than 10 seconds and definitely don't let the clock hit 7am without feeding him breakfast or else he will come sit on your head! Did I mention he weighs 90lbs? We have also learned that you have to entertain them constantly and when it gets quiet you can pretty much guarantee he is up to something that involves one of our socks, a paper towel or anything he is not suppose to have! We also learned that he gets this look in his eye when he is about to do something that involves chasing him trying to get something of ours back. We have put baby safety features on most of our cabinet doors so he can't get into those and to put all of our door locks on the outside since he knows how to open doors! We also now know not to buy anything really nice because it is just going to get muddy paw prints or teeth marks on it. Since we moved into our house we are on our second coffee table, fifth carpet patch job (yes we spilled something one time on the carpet, cleaned it up right away but yet he still thought he should have some!), replaced most of the trim in the entry way, replaced the window ledge at the front door more times than I can even count on two hands to where we now make two at a time! And the last thing I can think of at the moment is replacing the blinds twice! Now we do believe he is finally growing out of this stage since it has been over 6 months since we have had to replace anything but I don't want to say that too confident now....he might hear me!
