First comes Puppy, then comes Baby

Now we don't have any kids yet so we could be really off but right now who ever said that getting a puppy is the best way to prepare for having kids could not have been more right!! We have had our "puppy" for two years now! He is a male German Shepherd and has brought so much joy and laughter to our life’s. It is so hard to believe that our little son is already two!! He has prepared and taught us so much like, don't let the alarm clock go off for more than 10 seconds and definitely don't let the clock hit 7am without feeding him breakfast or else he will come sit on your head! Did I mention he weighs 90lbs? We have also learned that you have to entertain them constantly and when it gets quiet you can pretty much guarantee he is up to something that involves one of our socks, a paper towel or anything he is not suppose to have! We also learned that he gets this look in his eye when he is about to do something that involves chasing him trying to get something of ours back. We have put baby safety features on most of our cabinet doors so he can't get into those and to put all of our door locks on the outside since he knows how to open doors! We also now know not to buy anything really nice because it is just going to get muddy paw prints or teeth marks on it. Since we moved into our house we are on our second coffee table, fifth carpet patch job (yes we spilled something one time on the carpet, cleaned it up right away but yet he still thought he should have some!), replaced most of the trim in the entry way, replaced the window ledge at the front door more times than I can even count on two hands to where we now make two at a time! And the last thing I can think of at the moment is replacing the blinds twice! Now we do believe he is finally growing out of this stage since it has been over 6 months since we have had to replace anything but I don't want to say that too confident now....he might hear me!
